The most common treatment for a solid foundation house is by drilling 16 mm holes +- 1 meter apart from the outside wall into the foundation of the house/building where the soil is compacted underneath the foundation.  After the drilling is finished a high-pressure pump with a specialized injection rod will be used to inject chemicals/termiticides into the foundation of the house, structure where the holes are drilled to eliminate the active termites underneath the foundation, concrete slab.  After this process is completed the holes will be closed with plugs or cement so that there is no outer effect such as rainwater that can influence the pesticide that is injected underneath the foundation.  This chemical/termiticide will last for a very long time underneath the house and will exterminate active termite colonies underneath your house as well as preventing future termite infestations. A 5-year guarantee will be given after a treatment took place as well as a certificate.

Subterranean Termites unlike dry wood termites are mostly found below the surface. A subterranean colony can have up to 2 million termites. All termites consume cellulose-based plant materials. If any form of wood source is found, the termites alert the rest of the colony and the feeding frenzy begins. Subterranean Termites are difficult to detect in most cases, as they consume wood from the inside of skirtings, wendy houses, wooden floors, furniture that contains cellulose and moist, and you only discover the damage after most of the wood is already destroyed. They build distinctive “Mud Tubes” to gain access to food sources and to protect themselves from open air. They can build tunnels through cracks in concrete.

Harvester Termites

Harvester termites mostly attack your lawn and sometimes your garden as well. They make nests inside the soil and then make small holes coming out of the soil. They normally come out during mid-day to chop off pieces of your grass and take it into the nests. Harvesters can also be found in your foundation but are less common than subterranean termites

Damp wood Termites do not usually make contact with soil. They do not make tunnels like subterranean termites. They often eat across the grain of the wood. They normally consume decayed wood.

Dry wood Termites are mostly found inside dried out wood burrows, timbers. They do not build distinctive mud but rather infest dry wood and do not require contact with soil.
